Acronym Expander: Enhance Your Reading Experience
Acronym Expander is a Chrome extension designed to assist users in understanding non-standard acronyms (NSAs) commonly found in research papers. By automatically identifying these acronyms within the text, it provides interactive tooltips that display their full meanings when hovered over. This functionality helps users quickly grasp complex terminology without interrupting their reading flow.
In version 1.5, the extension introduces the Key Acronyms feature, which allows users to save specific acronyms and their expansions for use across all sites. This enables the creation of a personalized bank of terms, such as gene names and functions, ensuring that relevant annotations are consistently available across various research papers. Additionally, users can edit, delete, or add acronyms, with changes saved specifically for each site, enhancing the overall usability of the tool.
